Editorial policy

How we decide what goes on a card, how we check it and how we fix mistakes. Last updated: 20 October 2026.

The rule every card follows

A card explains one concept so that a reader without a technical background can understand and repeat it. Anything that does not serve that purpose stays out — in particular anything that would push a reader towards a market decision.

Sources

  • We work from primary sources: standards bodies such as NIST and the IETF, original papers, the Bitcoin whitepaper, Bitcoin Improvement Proposals (BIPs), Ethereum documentation and Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), and official texts from EU institutions and international bodies such as ESMA, the ECB, the BIS and the FATF.
  • Every card lists its sources at the end, with direct links.
  • We do not use price data, market "research" from crypto companies, or anonymous blog posts as sources.

Writing and checking

  • Cards are written by the Learning Point Hub editorial team in plain English. A technical word that is not explained on the card is linked to its glossary entry or its own card.
  • Before publication, each statement of fact is checked against the listed sources. Dates of events, names of standards and numbers are copied from the source, not from memory.
  • Cards are reviewed at least once a year and sooner when a protocol or a law changes. The date of the latest update is shown on every card.

What we leave out

Prices, charts, predictions, ranked lists, reviews or comparisons of exchanges, wallets or tokens, step-by-step instructions for acquiring or moving crypto-assets, and links to platforms where crypto-assets are exchanged. The "Often confused" page compares ideas, never products.

Images and diagrams

Diagrams on the cards are drawn by us as code to show a mechanism. The decorative illustration on the home page may be created with the help of an AI image tool; any such image is reviewed by a person before publication and never depicts real people.

Independence

We have no affiliate links and accept no payment, gifts or sponsorship from crypto companies. Advertising of the site itself has no influence on the content of the cards.

Corrections

If you believe a card is wrong or misleading, write to info@learningpointhub.com with the card address and the passage in question. We check every report against the sources. When a correction changes the meaning of a card, we fix the text and update the date shown on the card.
